Tbilisi: The opening ceremony of the 'Caucasus Eagle 2026' Joint Special Tactical Exercise took place at the Mukhrani Military Base near Tbilisi. The event gathered special forces members from Azerbaijan, Trkiye, and Georgia, as reported by Azerbaijan's Ministry of Defense to AZERTAC.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Faig Guliyev, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Georgia, was in attendance along with representatives from the Military Attach© Office and high-ranking guests from the participating countries. The ceremony began with a moment of silence to honor military personnel who sacrificed their lives for the independence and sovereignty of Azerbaijan, Trkiye, and Georgia. Following this tribute, the national anthems were played, and the state flags of the three nations were raised.
During the opening ceremony, speakers welcomed the guests and underscored the importance of these exercises in enhancing joint operational planning and facilitating the exchange of professional experience among the forces. They extended their best wishes to the participants for the successful accomplishment of the training objectives.
The exercise aims to further strengthen cooperation among Azerbaijan, Trkiye, and Georgia in the fields of security and defense. It is considered significant for enhancing the combat readiness of the units involved in the exercise.
