PARIS: The debut bout of Azerbaijani boxer Murad Allahverdiyev took place in Paris at the Summer Olympics, Trend reports.

Allahverdiyev, participating in the 80 kg weight category, faced off against Egyptian competitor Abdelrahman Abdelgawwad at the stage of the 1/8 finals.

The Azerbaijani athlete, coming out on top against his rival, made it 1/4 finals.
