Azerbaijani Citizen Extradited from Georgia on Criminal Charges

Tbilisi: Azerbaijani citizen Suleymanov Elnur Gudrat has been extradited from Georgia following a decision by the Prosecutor General’s Office of Georgia. The extradition was confirmed by the Prosecutor General’s Office, as reported by APA.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the Surakhani District Police Department had been investigating a criminal case which led to reasonable suspicions against Elnur Suleymanov. He is suspected of committing acts under Articles 127.2.3, involving intentional infliction of less serious harm to health with hooligan intent, and 221.1, pertaining to hooliganism, of the Criminal Code. A decision was made to bring Suleymanov as a defendant, prompting an international search.

Suleymanov was apprehended within the territory of Georgia and subsequently extradited to Azerbaijan. His transfer was facilitated by a special convoy from the Penitentiary Service of the Ministry of Justice, ensuring his return to face the charges against him.
