Azerbaijani delegation attends Stratcom Summit 2021 in Istanbul

The two-day International Strategic Communication Summit (Stratcom Summit ’21) organized by the Turkish Presidency’s Directorate of Communications has today kicked off in Istanbul.

A delegation led by Assistant to the President of Azerbaijan, Head of Foreign Policy Affairs Department of the Presidential Administration Hikmat Hajiyev is attending the Summit.

The Summit will feature 112 speakers from over 30 countries and representatives from academia, think tanks, the public sector, the media, the private sector, non-governmental organizations, and international organizations.

The event will address current issues such as strategic communication, public diplomacy, digital diplomacy, disinformation, crisis management, communication campaigns, state communication, new media, public relations, open intelligence, social media network analysis, metaverse, nation branding, market data, trends in new communication technologies, strategic marketing, media budgets, impacts of algorithms on human life, opinion research and political communication.

Senior executives working in the field of strategic communication from international organizations such as NATO, the European Union, the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), the United Nations (UN), UNICEF, the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP), the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) will participate as speakers.

In his opening remarks, Director of Communications of the Presidency of Turkey Fahrettin Altun spoke about the power of the media in the world, misinformation and aggressive public information campaigns, as well as the negative impact of misinformation on countries across the world.
