Shanghai: An Azerbaijani delegation participated in the opening ceremony of the 30th Shanghai Television Festival, a prominent international event in the television sector, held in Shanghai, People’s Republic of China. The Audiovisual Council shared this development with APA.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the festival serves as a crucial platform for exchanging creative ideas, fostering international cooperation, and exploring innovative trends in the television and media industry. First inaugurated in 1986, the Shanghai Television Festival is celebrated as the first of its kind in East Asia and is regarded as one of the most prestigious media events in the region. Its main aim is to promote high-quality productions within the TV industry and facilitate discussions on global media-related topics.
During the event, the Azerbaijani delegation, led by Ahmad Ismayilov, Executive Director of the Media Development Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan, engaged in a meeting with Fan Shiqiong, Director-General and Editor-in-Chief of the Shanghai Media Group. The delegation also toured the group’s broadcasting and editing facilities, technological infrastructure, and digital broadcasting systems.
The Azerbaijani representatives in China include Ahmad Ismayilov; Ismat Sattarov, Chairman of the Audiovisual Council of the Republic of Azerbaijan; Kamran Hasanov, Head of the Media Relations Sector at the Department for Work with NGOs and Communications under the Presidential Administration of the Republic of Azerbaijan; Vuqar Aliyev, Chairman of the Board of the Azerbaijan State News Agency (AZERTAC); and Rufat Hamzayev, Executive Director of the ‘AnewZ’ TV channel.
