Tashkent: A delegation from Azerbaijan, led by Adil Karimli, Minister of Culture, visited Uzbekistan on June 23. As part of their visit, the Azerbaijani delegation will participate in the 3rd International Maqom Art Forum in Namangan and the opening ceremony of 'Andijan as the Cultural Capital of the Turkic World 2026' in Andijan.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the 3rd International Maqom Art Forum, running until June 26, is organized under the auspices of UNESCO and ICESCO. This forum aims to promote, preserve, and develop the art of Maqom, a genre of Eastern classical music, while also fostering international cultural, scientific, and creative cooperation. The program includes scientific and practical conferences, concerts, master classes, and discussions.
The 'Andijan as the Cultural Capital of the Turkic World 2026' opening ceremony, alongside the events planned under this initiative, focuses on popularizing the historical and cultural heritage shared by Turkic peoples. It also aims to strengthen cultural solidarity and expand humanitarian cooperation among the participating nations.
