Azerbaijani, Estonian FMs exchange letters on 30th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations

Azerbaijan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Jeyhun Bayramov and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Estonia Eva-Maria Liimets have had an exchange of letters on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Estonia.

In his letter, Minister Jeyhun Bayramov noted that relations between the two countries have continuously developed over the past 30 years, adding that mutual high-level visits, as well as the existence of a broad legal framework between the two countries played an important role in strengthening relations between Azerbaijan and Estonia in all areas. The Minister said that the Azerbaijani-Estonian Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation provides an important platform for discussing the bilateral economic agenda. The confidence is expressed in the letter that bilateral relations, established on a firm foundation of traditional friendship and mutual understanding and based on principles of international law, will continue to grow in coming years.

In her turn, Minister Eva-Maria Liimets noted the development of cooperation between the two countries over the past 30 years, emphasizing the achievements in cooperation in the areas of higher education and information technology. Noting that Azerbaijan’s drive for enhanced security and greater regional cooperation in the South Caucasus are highly valued by the country, the Minister stressed that Estonia has always supported Azerbaijan’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. The Minister expressed confidence that cooperation on all major topics of the bilateral agenda would advance.

The ministers extended their sincere congratulations to each other and wished the two friendly peoples peace, tranquility and prosperity.
