Brussels:Another peaceful rally by Azerbaijani families of missing persons took place at the historic Place de l'Albertine in Brussels, Belgium. Organized by the 'Garabagh Missing Families' Public Union, the rally aimed to raise awareness about Azerbaijanis missing during Armenia's occupation of Azerbaijani territories.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the rally is part of a series of demonstrations, with previous events held on October 20 at Place du Luxembourg and October 21 at Schuman Square. The demonstration featured a poignant installation with photographs, clothing, and letters from missing Azerbaijanis, expressing personal appeals to the world.
Visitors to the installation showed their support by writing messages, tying ribbons, and laying flowers in remembrance. The rally highlighted the plight of 4,010 Azerbaijanis who went missing, including children, women, and the elderly.
Konul Behbudova, Chairwoman of the organizing union, emphasized the need for Armenia to provide information about the missing. Family members shared their experiences of loss and uncertainty, urging the international community to help uncover the fate of their loved ones.
The families met with EU officials, reaffirming their commitment to continue international rallies. The 'Garabagh Missing Families' Public Union's project, 'Echo of Absence,' has been supported by a grant from Azerbaijan's Agency for State Support to NGOs.
