Baku: Azerbaijan's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Jeyhun Bayramov, met with the Chief of the Army Staff of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, who is on a visit to Azerbaijan. The meeting focused on regional cooperation and explored the prospects for further development of bilateral and multilateral relations between the two countries. According to Trend News Agency, the meeting highlighted satisfaction with the high-level reciprocal visits between the leaders of Azerbaijan and Pakistan. It emphasized that meetings between foreign ministers and the establishment of political consultation mechanisms and regional cooperation platforms have played a crucial role in enhancing the friendly relations between the two nations. The discussion also stressed the importance of further developing collaboration in various fields such as politics, economics, trade, high technology, defense, and security. The meeting underscored the importance of mutual support within various multilateral framewor ks, including regional and international organizations like the United Nations (UN), the Non-Aligned Movement, and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation. The significance of Pakistan's election to the UN Security Council for the upcoming term was also highlighted as an essential aspect of their cooperation. Furthermore, attendees noted that the upcoming 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29) would provide an additional platform for meetings between the leaders of Azerbaijan and Pakistan, serving as a special occasion for strengthening cooperation.
