Baku: Azerbaijani gas will be exported to Syria in the near future, APA reports. This development was announced during an expanded meeting between the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, and the Interim President of the Syrian Arab Republic, Ahmed Al Sharaa.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the meeting underscored the importance of cooperation between Azerbaijan and Syria, with a particular focus on the energy sector. It was highlighted during the discussions that Syria is currently experiencing a significant energy problem. In response to this challenge, plans are underway for exporting Azerbaijani gas to Syria through Trkiye. This initiative is expected to enhance Syria’s energy security.

The meeting also noted Azerbaijan’s potential role in aiding the restoration of Syria’s energy sector, highlighting Azerbaijan’s capacity to contribute positively to Syria’s energy challenges.
