Astara: The humanitarian aid sent by Azerbaijan to Iran has successfully reached its destination, and the convoy has returned to Azerbaijan. This development was reported by APA's Southern bureau.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the convoy of trucks carrying the humanitarian supplies crossed back into Azerbaijan through the Astara state border checkpoint. This mission followed a phone conversation on March 8 between Azerbaijan's President Ilham Aliyev and Iran's President Masoud Pezeshkian. The leaders discussed the necessity of providing assistance to Iran, emphasizing the neighborly and friendly relations between the two countries.
The aid package, as per the instructions of the President of Azerbaijan, was transported by vehicles from the Ministry of Emergency Situations. It included 10 tons of flour, 6 tons of rice, 2.4 tons of sugar, more than 4 tons of water, approximately 600 kg of tea, and nearly 2 tons of medicines and medical supplies. This effort was aimed at addressing the immediate needs of the Iranian population.
