Azerbaijani Ministry of Emergency Situations Engages in CIS Joint Emergency Response Training

Moscow: The Ministry of Emergency Situations of Azerbaijan participated in a joint training exercise with emergency response agencies from CIS countries, as reported by the Press Service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES) of Azerbaijan.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the training aimed to implement a decision from the 36th meeting of the Interstate Council for Emergencies of Natural and Technogenic Character of CIS. Conducted from May 19 to 23, the exercise took place at the Noginsk Rescue Center of the Ministry of Russian Federation for Civil Defence, Emergencies and Elimination of Consequences of Natural Disasters (EMERCOM of Russia).

The training focused on the "Elimination of the Consequences of an Earthquake Accompanied by Large-Scale Destruction." The Republic of Azerbaijan was represented by the International Search and Rescue Team of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, which involved 30 personnel and five pieces of equipment. The exercise included rapid deployment of forces, setting up of a tent camp, establishing a coordination center, and organizing reconnaissance activities. Tasks also involved reinforcing buildings at risk of collapse and conducting search and rescue operations. Modern technology, including unmanned aerial vehicles and communication tools, was used to assess the situation and prioritize personnel safety.

One of the main objectives during the training was the implementation of simplified border crossing and customs procedures. Participants also familiarized themselves with the capabilities and material-technical base of the Noginsk Rescue Center. Seminars covered diverse topics such as unmanned aerial vehicle use, psychological support, communication during operations, diving operations, and activities of canine units.

At the conclusion of the training, an analysis was conducted, and employees who excelled were awarded by the leadership of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation.
