The Northern Regional Center of the Commissioner for Human Rights (Ombudsman) of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the State Committee for Work with Religious Organizations and Guba District Executive Authority have co-organized an awareness-raising event entitled “The importance of tolerant traditions of the Azerbaijani people and policy of multiculturalism in strengthening national solidarity”.

The staff members of the State Committee for Work with Religious Organizations’ Guba Regional Department, Guba District Executive Authority and public representatives attended the event.

Speaking at the event, Head of the Ombudsman’s Northern Regional Center Bahruz Afandiyev highlighted tolerant and multicultural values existing in Azerbaijan, as well as the role of tolerance in the fight against discrimination. Afandiyev emphasized that the tolerant traditions and policy of multiculturalism foster the national solidarity. He noted that Azerbaijan’s model in this field is exemplary for the world.

The event also featured a Q&A session.
