Baku: At a recent session of the Milli Majlis, Azerbaijan’s legislative body, the draft law concerning the state budget for 2026 was deliberated and subsequently approved in its second reading. The draft outlines the financial blueprint for the Republic of Azerbaijan, with revenues anticipated to reach 38,609,000.0 thousand manats and expenditures projected at 41,703,600.0 thousand manats. This includes centralized revenues of 37,850,712.0 thousand manats and local revenues of 758,288.0 thousand manats, alongside centralized expenditures of 40,944,465.0 thousand manats and local expenditures of 759,135.0 thousand manats.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the draft also specifies limits on state borrowing for 2026. Domestic state borrowing is capped at 2,000,000.0 thousand manats, while external state borrowing is limited to 6,000,000.0 thousand manats. Additionally, the upper limit for state guarantees to be issued throughout the year is set at 3,000,000.0 thousand manats. The budget deficit for the year is projected at 3,094,600.0 thousand manats.

Following a period of discussion, the draft law was brought to a vote and successfully adopted in this second reading, marking a significant step in the legislative process for the 2026 state budget.
