Azerbaijani Parliament Speaker Engages in Strategic Dialogue with Pakistani President

Islamabad: President of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Asif Zardari, welcomed the Speaker of the Milli Majlis, Sahiba Gafarova, and the Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Trkiye, Numan Kurtulmus, as part of the Third Trilateral Meeting of the Speakers of the Parliaments of Azerbaijan, Pakistan, and Trkiye. This meeting took place in Islamabad, as reported by the Press and Public Relations Department of the Milli Majlis to APA.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the discussions revolved around enhancing relations between the countries and peoples, with a focus on strengthening inter-parliamentary cooperation. It was highlighted that the close political contacts and successful cooperation have furthered the bond between the nations and their citizens.

The significance of the trilateral cooperation mechanism among the Parliaments of Azerbaijan, Pakistan, and Trkiye was emphasized, as it plays a crucial role in fostering friendship and brotherhood ties. The meeting also underlined the successful collaboration of the legislative bodies within international parliamentary organizations, expressing satisfaction with these efforts.

There was a shared appreciation for the current high level of both bilateral and trilateral cooperation between Azerbaijan and Pakistan. The contributions of the respective parliaments in this framework were positively acknowledged during the meeting.
