Baku: The Memorandum of Understanding on guarantees by the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan for the Islamic Development Bank Group’s Annual Meetings in 2026 is set to be approved by the Azerbaijani Parliament. This agreement is between the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan, represented by the Ministry of Economy, and the Islamic Development Bank Group.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the issue has been included in the agenda of the upcoming meeting of the Milli Majlis Committee on Foreign and Interparliamentary Relations. The Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) Group’s Annual Meetings in 2026 will take place in Azerbaijan, marking a significant event for the country. It has also been announced that Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov will serve as the Chairman of the IsDB Group’s Board of Governors.
Next year’s meetings in Azerbaijan will include several key events: the 51st annual meeting of the IsDB Board of Governors, the 22nd annual meeting General Assembly of the International Islamic Trade Finance Corporation, the 33rd annual meeting of the Board of Governors of the Islamic Corporation for the Insurance of Investment and Export Credit, the 26th annual meeting of the Board of Governors of the Islamic Corporation for the Development of the Private Sector, and the 19th Annual Meeting of the Islamic Solidarity Fund for Development.
The Memorandum of Understanding signed at the event outlines the cooperation framework for the effective planning and organization of the Annual Meeting to be held in Baku in 2026.
