Baku: On July 20, Sahiba Gafarova, Speaker of Azerbaijan's Milli Majlis, met with a delegation of Uzbekistan, led by Prosecutor General Nigmatilla Yuldashev. The meeting focused on the existing Azerbaijan-Uzbekistan relations of strategic alliance, bilateral interparliamentary ties, legal cooperation, as well as collaboration within international organizations.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Speaker Sahiba Gafarova emphasized that the Azerbaijan-Uzbekistan relations are grounded in fraternity, friendship, and mutual trust. She pointed out that thanks to the sincere friendship and political dialogue, based on mutual trust, established between Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, the bilateral relations have been elevated to the qualitatively new level of strategic alliance.
The Azerbaijani Parliamentary Speaker added that both countries enjoy fruitful collaboration, consistently supporting each other within international platforms.
Prosecutor General Nigmatilla Yuldashev praised Azerbaijan's dynamic development, the country's ongoing large-scale restoration efforts in its liberated territories, as well as its contribution to ensuring lasting peace in the South Caucasus and enabling new cooperation opportunities in the region.
Yuldashev also hailed the successful development of bilateral parliamentary ties, describing this cooperation as one of the key areas of bilateral relations. The meeting also addressed other issues of mutual concern.
