Davos: 'We were faced with unjustified criticism over both Eurovision and COP,' said President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev as he responded to questions from business representatives from various countries during an event titled 'Azerbaijan Executive Breakfast,' held as part of the annual meeting of the World Economic Forum in Davos.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the criticism was mainly directed at Azerbaijan's involvement with COP29. The head of state highlighted that Azerbaijan was questioned for being an oil-producing country and hosting a COP event. President Aliyev pointed out that other countries with larger oil outputs than Azerbaijan had hosted similar events without facing such scrutiny. He emphasized that Azerbaijan should not be faulted for its natural resources but rather evaluated on how it manages its oil wealth and ensures its fair distribution within society.
