BAKU: President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva visited the Alley of Honors to pay tribute to National Leader Heydar Aliyev, marking the 21st anniversary of his death. The visit underscores the enduring legacy of Heydar Aliyev, a pivotal figure in the establishment of modern and independent Azerbaijan.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, President Aliyev laid a wreath at the grave of the National Leader. The ceremony included the playing of the National Anthem of Azerbaijan, honoring Heydar Aliyev’s contributions as a world-renowned politician and the architect of Azerbaijan’s independence.
Following the commemoration at Heydar Aliyev’s grave, President Aliyev and the First Lady placed flowers at the grave of Zarifa Aliyeva, the National Leader’s wife and a distinguished ophthalmologist and academician.
