KAZAN: President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has arrived in Kazan, the capital of the Republic of Tatarstan, Russia, to attend the 16th BRICS Summit in the outreach/BRICS Plus format. This visit follows an invitation extended by Russian President Vladimir Putin, highlighting the diplomatic engagement between the two nations.
According to Azeri-Press news agency, President Aliyev’s plane was escorted by military helicopters as it landed at Kazan International Airport, signifying the importance of his visit. Upon arrival, a ceremonial guard of honor was arranged to welcome the Azerbaijani President. Rustam Minnikhanov, the Rais of the Republic of Tatarstan, greeted President Aliyev, marking the commencement of his participation in the summit activities.
