Baku: Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev emphasized the necessity of achieving complete self-sufficiency in meat, milk, and poultry during a meeting focused on agricultural issues. At the meeting, President Aliyev highlighted the current self-sufficiency levels, which stand at approximately 80-90 percent, and stressed the importance of increasing this to 100 percent.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, President Aliyev outlined a program aimed at achieving this goal within a short-term period from 2026 to 2030. He noted that nearly half of 2026 is already behind us, leaving only four and a half years for the program's implementation. To ensure the success of this initiative, President Aliyev stated that state funds must be allocated within this year for financing the program.
