Baku: Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev emphasized the importance of humanitarian demining in urban recovery and the creation of safe human settlements.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, President Aliyev addressed the participants of the 4th International Mine Action Conference, which focused on 'Humanitarian Demining for Urban Recovery: Setting Standards of Excellence for Safe Settlements.'
President Aliyev highlighted the severe challenges faced by Azerbaijan due to nearly 30 years of territory occupation by Armenia, resulting in the country being one of the most mine-contaminated regions globally. The President underscored those demining efforts are crucial for rebuilding urban areas and ensuring the safety of human settlements in Azerbaijan.
