Azerbaijani President: “Turkic Council increases its charm every day”

“In the last two years, we have ensured representation of Turkmenistan as an observer status in the Turkic Council. As a result of this, I would like especially note that as a chair of the Turkic Council, I am very pleased to see our Turkmen brothers among us. Their participation to us became an important step”, said Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev at VIII Summit of the Cooperation Council of Turkic Speaking States, APA reports.

The head of state said that Uzbekistan has been accepted to the membership of Turkic Council at the Summit held in Baku: “In 2009, if there were only 4 member state while signing the Nakhchivan agreement, today, this number reached 7. The Turkic Council increases its charm every passing day. I am sure that countries, that are in the observer countries in the Turkic Council, can deliver their voices in a higher way”.
