Baku:President Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan received the newly appointed Malaysian Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Aznifah Isnariah Binti Abdul Ghani.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, during the meeting on October 5, the ambassador presented her credentials to President Aliyev, who then engaged in a discussion with her. The president highlighted the strong political ties between Azerbaijan and Malaysia and emphasized the need to enhance economic cooperation in areas such as energy, investment, and tourism. He also stressed the importance of active political dialogue and mutual visits by delegations.
The ambassador conveyed greetings from the King and Prime Minister of Malaysia and extended invitations for President Aliyev to visit Malaysia. President Aliyev expressed his appreciation for the greetings and invitations and extended an invitation for the Malaysian leaders to visit Azerbaijan.
Both parties acknowledged the long-standing, high-level relationship between the two countries, with the ambassador committing to further strengthening these ties. Discussions also included the importance of mutual support in international organizations and cooperation in tourism and education, including the elimination of visa requirements and the establishment of direct flights. They also noted the exchange of students between the two nations under scholarship programs provided by Azerbaijan.
