Azerbaijani-Romanian Strategic Partnership Thrives with Expanding Cooperation

Baku: Azerbaijani and Romanian relations are on a strong trajectory, according to Romanian political scientist Iulian Chifu. Speaking on the "Azerbaijan and the World" program broadcast on the AZERTAC website, Chifu highlighted the robust strategic partnership that has been cultivated over decades, particularly in the energy sector.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Chifu pointed out that while energy remains a cornerstone of the bilateral relationship, cooperation has significantly broadened. The mutual understanding between the leadership of Azerbaijan and Romania has been instrumental in this development, facilitating collaboration in emerging fields such as cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, science, and technology.

The importance of SOCAR's investment activities in Romania was also emphasized by Chifu, noting the substantial prospects for expansion. He further mentioned that the strengthening of Azerbaijani-Romanian ties is bolstered by humanitarian connections and Romania's ongoing support for Azerbaijan's sovereignty and territorial integrity.
