Cairo: Every year during the month of Ramadan, the Ministry of Endowments of Egypt organizes the prestigious “Meeting with Scholars” program. The guest of the latest edition of the widely acclaimed program was Seymur Nasirov, Chairman of the Egypt-Azerbaijan Friendship Society and Co-chairman of the World Association of Azerbaijani Scholars. During the hour-long session, the discussion focused on the historical ties between the Egyptian and Azerbaijani peoples.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Nasirov detailed the exceptional services of Azerbaijani scholars in Egypt’s development. He emphasized that despite the severe pressures of the Soviet era, the Azerbaijani people never abandoned their religious and cultural values. The host, renowned journalist Hassan Shazuli, highlighted that Nasirov was awarded the First Class “Order of Science and Arts” by Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi for his contributions to strengthening bilateral relations.
