An overtime serviceman of the State Border Service (SBS) died in an accident in Azerbaijan, State Border Service told APA.

SBS said that Sergeant Ahmadov Tural Akram oglu received shrapnel wounds while firing from the AQS-17 weapon during field exercises held on November 4 at 17:20 during the field exercises of the SBS Border Troops “Gazakh” special border division.

Although immediate measures were taken to evacuate the serviceman, it was not possible to save his life.

The SBS and the Prosecutor General’s Office are conducting a joint investigation into the incident.
