Azerbaijani Speaker Engages in Bilateral Talks with Palestinian Prime Minister

Baku: Sahiba Gafarova, Speaker of Azerbaijan's Milli Majlis, recently held a meeting with Mohammad Mustafa, the visiting Prime Minister of the State of Palestine. The discussions underscored the strong ties and cooperative engagements between Azerbaijan and Palestine, rooted in mutual respect and shared interests.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Speaker Gafarova emphasized the significance of reciprocal visits and bilateral meetings in strengthening interstate relations. She highlighted that the current visit by the Palestinian Prime Minister is a step forward in bolstering bilateral cooperation. Azerbaijan's principled stance on the Palestinian issue was also reiterated, with Gafarova noting that this position is maintained consistently within international forums.

Prime Minister Mohammad Mustafa expressed his appreciation for Azerbaijan's unwavering political, diplomatic, and humanitarian support for Palestine. He acknowledged the importance of his discussions with Azerbaijan's leadership, emphasizing the enduring gratitude of the Palestinian people for Azerbaijan's backing. Mustafa also praised Azerbaijan's role in international peace efforts and reiterated Palestine's commitment to achieving a just and lasting peace based on the "two-state solution."

Further discussions between the two leaders explored opportunities for expanding cooperation in various sectors, including agriculture, education, and humanitarian initiatives. The Prime Minister highlighted a significant project involving the construction of a school in Palestine with Azerbaijani support, among other joint ventures. He also stressed the importance of enhancing inter-parliamentary collaboration and expanding it across multiple areas.
