Azerbaijani Startup Farm Forward Honored at Kazakhstan Hackathon

ASTANA: In the Caucasus and Central Asia 2024 hackathon held in Astana, Azerbaijani startup Farm Forward achieved significant recognition by securing third place among over 120 participants from seven countries. The event, organized in cooperation with Google, spotlighted innovation in artificial intelligence and sustainable growth.

According to Azeri-Press news agency, the hackathon was organized under the slogan “Build With AI for Sustainable Growth!” and brought together AI-based startups from across the region. The Ministry of Digital Development and Transport of Azerbaijan announced that Altun Tarverdiyev, founder of Farm Forward, was honored by the organizers for the startup’s achievements. A total of 21 startups reached the final stage of the competition, with the top three teams being awarded based on jury scores. These teams received cash prizes, incubation support, and opportunities to collaborate with global technology firms.

Azerbaijan’s participation was led by a delegation from the Ministry of
Digital Development and Transport, headed by Deputy Minister Samir Mammadov. During the visit, Mammadov engaged in discussions with Olga Skorokhodova, Google’s Head of Government Affairs and Public Policy for the Caucasus and Central Asia, as well as Kazakhstan’s Deputy Minister of Digital Development, Kanish Tuleyushin. These meetings underscored the commitment to fostering technological innovation and collaboration in the region.
