Washington: Azerbaijani, U.S., and Armenian officials convened in Washington, D.C., for a trilateral meeting aimed at advancing peace and cooperation between Azerbaijan and Armenia. The meeting brought together Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Elnur Mammadov, Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs of the United States Allison Hooker, and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia Vahan Kostanyan on 10 August.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the discussions marked the first anniversary of the historic Washington Summit held on 8 August 2025. The primary focus was on the normalization process between Azerbaijan and Armenia. The officials exchanged views on the latest developments and outlined the next steps concerning the Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity (TRIPP) initiative. This initiative aims to advance regional connectivity, economic development, and lasting peace.

The meeting also addressed the ongoing delimitation process of the Azerbaijan-Armenia border, highlighting the importance of continuing practical efforts based on previously reached agreements. Confidence-building measures were a significant topic, with the goal of strengthening mutual trust and supporting a sustainable peace process.

The participants expressed their gratitude to the United States for hosting the trilateral meeting on the summit's anniversary. They emphasized the necessity of translating commitments into concrete outcomes.
