Baku: Azerbaijani weightlifter Kamran Khappayev claimed a bronze medal at the EWF European Youth and U15 Championships held in Pristina, Kosovo. Competing in the 70 kg category, Khappayev demonstrated his skills and strength in a field of talented young athletes. According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Khappayev achieved a lift of 123 kg in the snatch event, earning him the bronze medal. Despite his success in the snatch, he placed seventh in the clean and jerk discipline with a lift of 145 kg. With a combined total of 268 kg from both lifts, Khappayev concluded the European Championships in fifth place overall. His performance highlights the growing prominence of Azerbaijani athletes on the European weightlifting stage.
