Azerbaijan’s 13th Amnesty Act Covers 17,000 Individuals

Baku: 17,000 people are included in Azerbaijan's latest amnesty initiative, as confirmed by an official from the Penitentiary Service. "To date, 70 pardon Orders have been signed, and 12 Amnesty Acts have been adopted. The one being implemented today is the 13th amnesty act," stated Deputy Head of the Penitentiary Service, Justice Major General Orkhan Azizov, during the execution of the Amnesty Act at Penitentiary Service Institution No. 4, which is designated for women, of the Ministry of Justice.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the Amnesty Act was adopted on the initiative of President Ilham Aliyev. Azizov highlighted that the current amnesty covers 17,000 individuals and is part of efforts to reinforce the legal system in the country. The Ministry of Justice is tasked with ensuring the swift implementation of the act.
