Antalya: On April 18, Azerbaijan's Minister of Foreign Affairs Jeyhun Bayramov met with Sohail Mahmood, Secretary General of the Developing-8 Organization for Economic Cooperation (D-8), on the sidelines of the Antalya Diplomacy Forum. During the meeting, they discussed the existing cooperation agenda between Azerbaijan and the D-8 and reviewed opportunities for further developing relations in the fields of politics, economy, trade, energy, investment, transport, and logistics.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Azerbaijan's active engagement within the organization in the short period since its accession to D-8 membership was highly appreciated. The practical steps taken toward organizing the D-8 Week for the first time in Azerbaijan in October 2025, as well as the establishment of the D-8 Energy and Climate Center, D-8 Media Excellence Center, and D-8 Transport Excellence Center in Azerbaijan, were fondly recalled.

They also exchanged views on regional and international security issues. The importance of reducing tensions in the Middle East, strengthening the ceasefire, and adhering to international humanitarian law was emphasized. The meeting also included an exchange of views on other issues of mutual interest.
