Azerbaijan’s ANAMA Discovers 770 Landmines and Over 12,000 UXOs in Liberated Territories

Baku: Azerbaijan National Agency for Mine Action (ANAMA) has reported its findings for October regarding mine clearance operations in the liberated territories. ANAMA shared the details with APA, highlighting significant progress in their demining efforts.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, a total of 406 anti-personnel mines and 364 anti-tank mines were discovered last month. In addition, 12,298 unexploded ordnances (UXOs) were identified and removed from areas including Tartar, Aghdam, Aghdara, Lachin, Fuzuli, Shusha, Khojaly, Khankandi, Kalbajar, Khojavand, Jabrayil, Gubadli, and Zangilan. The operations also covered liberated villages such as Baghanis Ayrim, Ashaghi Askipara, Kheyrimli, and Gizilhajili in the Gazakh district.

ANAMA reported that a total of 7,022.1 hectares of land were successfully cleared of mines and unexploded ordnance, marking a significant step toward restoring safety and enabling the resettlement of these areas.
