Azerbaijan’s ANAMA Discovers Additional Mines and UXOs in Liberated Territories

Baku: Azerbaijan’s Mine Action Agency (ANAMA) has reported the discovery of 68 additional mines and 129 unexploded ordnance (UXOs) in territories recently liberated. According to the latest weekly report, mine clearance operations from June 2 to June 9 have identified 52 anti-personnel mines, 16 anti-tank mines, and 129 UXOs across several regions.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, these findings were recorded in the regions of Tartar, Aghdam, Aghdara, Lachin, Fuzuli, Shusha, Khojaly, Khankandi, Kalbajar, Khojavand, Jabrayil, Gubadli, and Zangilan. ANAMA’s efforts have resulted in 889.2 hectares of land being cleared of these hazardous remnants of conflict.

The report emphasizes the ongoing commitment to making these areas safe for civilian use and highlights the continuous work required to address the remnants of past conflicts. The discovery and clearance of these mines and UXOs are crucial steps in ensuring the safety and resettlement of these liberated territories.
