BAKU: Azerbaijan’s Baku Olympic Stadium is under consideration to host the final match of the 2026/27 Champions League season. The Azerbaijan Football Federations Association (AFFA) has submitted a bid to UEFA, positioning the country’s largest stadium as a potential venue for the prestigious event.

According to Trend News Agency, the only competition for Baku’s bid comes from Madrid’s Estadio Metropolitano. The UEFA Executive Committee is expected to announce its decision on the host venue in May 2025. This bid signifies an effort by AFFA to bring a major international football event to Azerbaijan, following previous successful hosting of events like the UEFA Europa League final in 2019.
