Baku: Azerbaijan experienced a significant increase in its balance of payments deficit, reaching $1.4 billion in 2025. Samir Nasirov, Director of the Statistics Department of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan, disclosed this information during a press conference at the bank.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the previous year, 2024, saw a deficit of $0.4 billion in the balance of payments. The figures highlight a substantial year-on-year increase, signaling economic challenges for Azerbaijan in managing its international financial transactions.
