Azerbaijan’s CEC held meeting with OSCE/ODIHR Election Observation Mission

On August 14, Chairman of the Central Election Commission (CEC) Mazahir Panahov met with a delegation led by Ditmir Bushati, Head of the Election Observation Mission of the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR) for the upcoming extraordinary parliamentary elections, media and communication department of the Secretariat of the CEC told APA.

Chairman Mazahir Panahov, who welcomed the international observers, praised the initiative of the mission for arranging the meeting.

Ditmir Bushati expressed gratitude for the warm welcome and showed interest in the progress of the parliamentary elections.

The Chairman of the CEC discussed the efforts made to ensure that the elections are well-prepared and conducted in a free, fair, and transparent manner. He also highlighted the Commission’s activities and the various projects implemented to more effectively realize the rights of citizens to vote and be elected. He emphasized that all steps are being taken in accordance with legislative requi
rements and under complete transparency.

Answering the questions of the guests, Chairman Mazahir Panahov also emphasized that preparations for the parliamentary elections, which will be held for the first time in all sovereign territories of Azerbaijan, and planned large-scale projects are continuing successfully.

During the meeting, other issues of mutual interest related to the elections to the Milli Majlis were also discussed.
