Baku: In 2024, the current account balance (CAB) of Azerbaijan’s payment balance amounted to a surplus of 4.7 billion dollars, Samir Nasirov, Director of the Statistics Department at the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA), said at a briefing, APA-Economics reports.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the share of the current account balance in GDP was 6.3%. The current account balance (CAB) surplus in the oil and gas sector was USD 15 billion, while the CAB deficit in the non-oil sector was USD 10.38 billion.
International financial institutions had forecasted a surplus in Azerbaijan’s current account balance for the year 2024. The last forecast was made on December 6 of this year by “S and P Global Ratings,” which forecasted that Azerbaijan’s current account balance surplus by the end of 2024 would be 6.9% of GDP.
