Azerbaijan’s Constitutional Court Validates Parliamentary Election Results

BAKU— Azerbaijan’s Constitutional Court has officially approved the results of the recent snap parliamentary elections during a special constitutional proceedings session held today.

According to Trend News Agency, the election, which successfully concluded on September 1, involved 125 constituencies across the nation. The court’s decision marks the formal acknowledgment of the parliament members for the 7th convocation, with the list of the new MPs now publicly available. The elections saw significant participation both domestically and internationally, with 112,749 local observers and 598 international observers from 51 organizations across 69 countries monitoring the process.

The electoral field was competitive, featuring 990 registered candidates. Of these, 305 candidates represented 25 different political parties. Interestingly, 371 candidates, although affiliated with political parties, were not officially nominated by these parties. In total, 676 candidates had political party affiliations, reflecting a diverse political landscape.
