Azerbaijan’s Current Account Surplus Predicted to Hit $5.5 Billion: Central Bank Chief

Baku: Azerbaijan's current account surplus is expected to reach $5.5 billion this year, Chairman of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA) Taleh Kazimov said during a press conference held today, APA-Economics reports.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Kazimov noted that the CBA forecasts a current account surplus of $4.4 billion in 2027. The main reason for this is the CBA's new forecast for oil and gas prices. The Central Bank has set the average oil price at $84.5 for 2026 and $74.5 for 2027. Additionally, the price of one thousand cubic meters of gas is forecast at $324 for 2026 and $290 for 2027.
