BAKU—Colonel General Zakir Hasanov, Azerbaijan’s Minister of Defense, has extended heartfelt condolences to Turkey following a tragic accident involving Turkish military personnel.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the condolence letters were addressed to Ali Yerlikaya, Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Türkiye, and Army General Ali Çardakci, Commander-in-Chief of the Gendarmerie. “I am deeply saddened by the news of the martyrdom of military personnel as a result of the vehicle accident in Tunceli province,” Hasanov wrote, expressing solidarity with the bereaved: “Your grief is our grief too.” The Defense Minister also offered prayers for the deceased and wishes for a speedy recovery to the injured.
