Azerbaijan’s Domestic Public Debt Rises by 17.6%


Baku: Azerbaijan’s domestic public debt saw an increase of 17.6% as of January 1, 2025, reaching 18 billion 659.7 million manat.



According to Azeri-Press News Agency, this rise is reported by Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Finance. In contrast, the external public debt decreased by 20.1% from the previous year, amounting to 5 billion 160 million US dollars, or 6.9 percent of the country’s GDP for 2024.



In total, Azerbaijan’s public debt stood at 27 billion 431.1 manat, marking a 2.2% or 580.7 million manat increase from the previous year.
