Azerbaijan’s Economy Minister meets with Georgian PM

Azerbaijan’s Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov has met with Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Garibashvili. During the meeting held at the Georgian Government Administration, the pair hailed the positive dynamics of economic cooperation, discussing key areas of strategic partnership between Azerbaijan and Georgia. The sides stressed the need to further strengthen the political dialogue between the two countries. During the conversation, it was emphasized that Georgia and Azerbaijan are implementing successful economic projects of global and regional importance in energy, transport and other fields. The parties underscored the importance of closer cooperation in the future to fully use the existing potential between the two countries. The meeting also highlighted the investment potential of both countries. It was noted that one of the key priorities of the Government of Georgia is to enhance its transit potential and create a regional logistics hub. Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili invited the Azerbaijani delegation to participate in the upcoming Silk Road Forum to be held in Tbilisi this autumn. Georgian Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Levan Davitashvili, Azerbaijani Ambassador to Georgia Faig Guliyev and Ambassador of Georgia to Azerbaijan Zurab Pataradze were also present at the meeting.
