The Ministry of Emergency Situations of Azerbaijan is continuing its educational activities in accordance with the plan of events implemented in connection with the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29) to be held in Baku, the Ministry told APA.
Within this framework, a meeting was held at the Ministry’s State Agency for Safety Control in Construction on the topic “Problems facing the construction sector against the background of climate changes that can cause emergency situations and ways to solve them.”
Opening the meeting with speech, by Gunduz Hamzayev, Deputy Head of the MES for the Organization of Work with Regional Centers, Project Management and Education Issues, spoke about the importance of the various series of events organized by the Ministry in connection with COP29 and emphasized the need to hold such events in the relevant institutions of the Ministry.

ol in Construction of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, speaking at the meeting, said that in the modern world, the impact of construction activities on climate change is one of the topical problems.
Pointing out that the construction sector includes a complex process starting from the extraction of minerals to the disposal of construction waste, the speaker gave detailed information about the large-scale measures taken and planned to reduce and prevent the negative effects of the works in the said area.
