Accra:The implementation level of Azerbaijan's 'Financial Sector Development Strategy for 2024-2026' reached 85.6% in 2025, as revealed by Taleh Kazimov, Chairman of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA), during an interview with Global Finance magazine.
According to Azeri-Press news agency, the strategy's implementation level was 81.8% in 2024, indicating an increase of 3.8 percentage points in the following year.
Kazimov explained that the strategy was formulated with measurable priorities across all essential segments of the financial sector. The plan includes the publication of annual reports to track its progress.
Significant steps have been undertaken as part of the strategy to enhance the transmission of monetary policy through the interest rate channel, reinforce the financial sector's stability, modernize payment infrastructure, encourage digital financial innovations, and implement a green taxonomy.
Kazimov emphasized that a strategy lacking external measurement and assessment ultimately concentrates on the most easily implementable measures.
