Azerbaijan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Jeyhun Bayramov received the new co-chair of the OSCE Minsk Group from the Russian Federation Igor Khovayev, the Foreign Ministry’s press service told APA.

Minister Jeyhun Bayramov congratulated him on his appointment.

Igor Khovayev said the visit was of an acquaintance nature.

Minister Jeyhun Bayramov briefed him about the current situation in the region, measures taken by Azerbaijan in the post-conflict period, the possibility of normalizing relations with Armenia on the basis of international law by eliminating the occupation factor, as well as the lack of prospects for revanchist position.

The parties exchanged views on the implementation of the provisions of the tripartite statement and the implementation of confidence-building measures.
