Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister reveals main condition for signing of peace treaty with Armenia

‘We have many goals set ahead. Eliminating threats to the sovereignty of our country is the main priority,’ said Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov in his statement to journalists, APA reports.

According to him, the policy that meets the national interests of Azerbaijan is provided on both bilateral and multilateral platforms.

Azerbaijani Foreign Minister also spoke about the current state of the process of normalization of relations with Armenia: “The public is regularly informed about the priorities of the peace agenda with Armenia. The world community knows that the fact that the occupation has been eliminated. In January 2021, President Ilham Aliyev made a public speech and proposed a peace agenda to Armenia. The number of open questions on the negotiation of the peace treaty has decreased significantly. Unfortunately, the territorial claim to Azerbaijan remains in the constitution of Armenia. This factor must be eliminated in order to fully achieve peace.”
