Baku: Azerbaijan’s foreign trade turnover saw a significant increase of 70.5% in January 2025 compared to the same period the previous year, reaching USD 5 billion 90.8 million. This substantial rise indicates robust economic activity and an expansion in both imports and exports for the country.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, data from the State Customs Committee revealed that Azerbaijan’s exports experienced a growth of 64.8%, amounting to USD 3 billion 38.5 million. Meanwhile, imports surged by 79.7%, totaling USD 2 billion 52.4 million. This dual increase in exports and imports underscores Azerbaijan’s dynamic engagement in international trade.

In addition, the country recorded a positive trade balance of USD 987 million in January, which marks a 40.5% increase compared to the same month last year. This positive trade balance reflects Azerbaijan’s ability to maintain a surplus in its international trade transactions, contributing to the country’s economic stability.
