Azerbaijan’s Gas Supply Expansion Boosts European Energy Security

Baku: The leading Moldovan news portal "Noi.md" has published an article highlighting Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev's speech at the official opening ceremony of the 12th Ministerial Meeting of Southern Gas Corridor Advisory Council and 4th Ministerial Meeting of Green Energy Advisory Council in Baku. 'Now the number of countries where Azerbaijani gas has reached its consumers has reached 16. And by this number, Azerbaijan is number one in the world with respect to the number of countries it supplies with pipeline gas,' the President of Azerbaijan underlined.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, President Aliyev expressed Azerbaijan's intent to increase its presence in the European energy market. The country has already begun supplying Germany and Austria, bringing the total to 10 EU members receiving Azerbaijani gas. The President emphasized plans to boost gas output from Azerbaijani fields in the coming years.
